The Calming Presence of Horses
These gentle giants have large, rhythmic hearts that help to promote a sense of peace and relaxation in those around them. Spending time with horses can lower stress levels and reduce anxiety, offering a serene environment where Veterans can reconnect with themselves.

A horse only shares their breath with someone they trust. This moment is about bond, consent, softness, and connection — the quiet way horses communicate when words don't work. When a horse leans in, exhales with you, and matches your rhythm, it's their version of saying I feel safe here.I filmed this to capture the subtle, powerful language of horses - how they mirror energy, recognize calm intention, and invite you into their space. Little moments like this are the foundation of real horsemanship.

We are so thankful for the tremendous support during this time. All of the support has just touched our hearts and we cannot even express all of our gratitude.
From all the gofundme donations, those who have sent supplies from our Amazon list, neighbors who have helped us with water for our horses, the prayer warriors that kept praying for us and the family/friends who have just listened and talked to us..thank you.
I got to come back to work Monday and the company I work at got us set up with a working generator (we had a generator that decided, after being hit by the hurricane/tornado, not to work) so now we have electricity and water. Amber got the well tank leaks fixed and back upright, so there is water for the horses and to our homes from our well.
God has blessed us so much during this time.

Borrowed from a sweet friend. I love horses💗

Recent studies conducted by the Institute of Heart-Math provide a clue to explain the two-way ′′healing′′ that occurs when we're close to horses.
According to researchers, the heart has an electromagnetic field larger than the brain: a magnetometer can measure the energy field of the heart that radiates from 2.4 meters to 3 meters around the human body.
While this is certainly significant, perhaps more impressive than the electromagnetic field projected by the heart of a horse is five times larger than that of a human being (imagine an electromagnetic sphere around the horse) and it can influence straight into our own heart rate.
Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a "coherent′′ heart rate (heart rate pattern) that explains why we can feel better when we're close to them. Studies have found a coherent heart pattern or HRV to be a solid measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy-that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.
A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adapt to stressful situations very efficiently. Many times, we just need to be in the presence of horses to feel a sense of well-being and peace.
In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits by interacting with horses, including lower blood pressure and heart rate, higher beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters acting as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, decreased feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, better social working; and greater feelings of empowerment, confidence, patience and self-efficacy.

Today, at Reining for Freedom, we are remembering those that have paid the price. But we also remember those that pay the price every day. Thank you to the fallen and our deepest condolences to their families.

Just a little bit about these 4!
Dolce is an all around done that horse! Drill team, cow cutting, sorting, trail riding, gaming and used as a schooling horse! She loves trails and nickname Dragon.
Dee Dee has done drill team, cow cutting and trails. We call her Bubblewrap,if there’s an obstacle she’ll find it. She’s very sensitive and loves snack time.
Gabby, known as Baby Dragon, is a small little girl with big sass. She goes with the flow and has trailed up in mountains and her trainers have said she’s a leader. She loves spa days!
Jaxx is well Jaxx. With the recent loss of our only guilding Texas, he was thrown in position of leader, protector at 2. He just turned 3 April and loves snuggles and obstacle courses. He has been ridden a couple times and still has a ways to go. He loves grooming and people pleasing.
You can sponsor or volunteer care time for one of these horses at our www.angeltrailranch.com. They all are used in our horsemanship therapeutic program.

𝓖𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰 🙏🏻☕️

This morning is extra special for us at Angel Trail Ranch!
Susan has been working so hard behind the scenes on our website adding Reining for Freedom Equine Therapy to our activities that we offer.
Reining for Freedom is a 501c3 non-profit organization and will be offering therapeutic horsemanship for free to veterans, first responders and their families. There is a lot of training and hard work to be done, but we feel it in our hearts to move in this direction and add this to our facility to help our community! I hope y'all will visit our site and our fb pages for more information.
We're looking for volunteers with any skill (we have a lot to accomplish) and a trainer that would love to grow with us!
There has been such an out pour of support already and we are very grateful! I can't believe over 100 followers already! Thank you so much!
