🐴✨ Horse Show Recap & Thank You! ✨🐴

What an incredible day at our Horse Showcase! We had a fantastic turnout, an amazing and supportive crowd, and—thanks to Swensen’s—the best donuts a horse show has ever seen (don’t worry, the horses didn’t get any… they may have got some carrots).

A huge shout-out goes to our incredible crew of volunteers and staff who keep us moving (sometimes faster than the horses do!) and of course to our four-legged partners who carried the real show on their backs.

This showcase capped off a whirlwind 12-week summer session where we served 120 participants each week, which included our first summer camp—that’s a whole lot of saddles, smiles, and maybe a few sore muscles. It takes a lot of heart, hard work, and horse hair (so much horse hair) to make it all happen, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Now, the horses are officially on “vacation” (think spa days, pasture naps, and zero lesson plans), while we humans roll up our sleeves and shift gears into fundraiser prep mode. Because if you think wrangling kids and horses is tough, wait until you try wrangling raffle baskets and silent auction sheets!

Thank you again to every rider, family member, cheerleader, volunteer, staffer, and horse who made this show possible. We couldn’t do it without you—and honestly, we wouldn’t want to. ❤️

🌟 Remembering Stormy 🌟

Hearts are heavy at the ranch this week. It never gets easier writing these posts — how could it, when the one we’re saying goodbye to was such a gift?

Stormy wasn’t just a horse — she was a healer, a teacher, a quiet and steady presence who gave more than we could ever put into words. At 28, no one ever guessed her age. She had more energy, more drive, and more love than horses half her age. She could outwalk any trail horse, outwork the best in the arena, and outshine them all with her heart.

She was the one we trusted without question. The horse you could put anyone on — nervous first-time riders, kids with walkers or wheelchairs, young riders standing up, riding backwards, tossing bean bags or going through car washes. Nothing rattled her. She was unshakeable. She carried thousands of riders, received countless pats and hugs, and showed up every single time with patience and grace.

If you've been part of Rising Stars, chances are, Stormy was part of your story. She was often the first ride, the beginning of confidence, the horse that made it all possible.

Stormy came to us on loan from her owner Shirley, who loved her beyond measure. Over the years, that love extended to all of us — from Shirley’s volunteering alongside her, to Stormy arriving solo, to finally making Rising Stars her full-time home in her final chapter.

Wednesday, July 30th, we said goodbye to our golden unicorn. The one we all wanted to ride. The one we trusted to carry our most precious souls. The one who gave everything.

To Shirley — our hearts are with you. You gave Stormy a life of purpose and love, and in turn, she changed lives in ways we’ll be telling stories about for years to come. Thank you for allowing us to share half of Stormy's life with us.

We are so grateful for every moment we had with her. Please share your memories, stories, or photos below. Her legacy is one we’ll carry in our hearts forever.

Idaho Equine Hospital is such an amazing asset to our community. We are thankful for our local vets but having an Equine hospital so close to assist in those extra needs situations we feel very blessed. All the staff there gives everything to each and every patient (human and horse because let's be honest, when our horses are suffering, we are so vets become counselors sometimes). They may have also learned of Blaze's escape tactics and ninja skills of being quiet on his feet 😆😆
