Sometimes the cure for the pain is found inside the pain itself.

Avoiding it may feel safer, but facing it—gently, intentionally—creates space for healing, clarity, and growth. When we allow ourselves to feel, understand, and process what hurts, pain can transform into insight and strength.

💭 Therapy offers a supportive space to explore what’s been weighing on you—without judgment, without rushing, and without having to do it alone.

✨ New year. New chapter. ✨
Before goals come intentions.
Intentions help you move with purpose, stay grounded, and align your actions with who you want to become—not just what you want to achieve.

As this year begins, take a moment to ask yourself:
How do I want to feel? How do I want to show up? What do I want to prioritize?

💭 Therapy can be a powerful space to clarify your intentions, release what no longer serves you, and build habits that support your growth—mentally and emotionally.

As the year turns, we don’t have to drag everything with us.
Tonight is about shedding what’s left of 2025—the habits that no longer fit, the stories that kept you small, the weight you were never meant to carry alone.

And gently opening space to usher in 2026 with intention, honesty, and hope.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be willing to begin again.

✨ If you want support releasing what no longer serves you and building a steadier, more grounded year ahead, working with a therapist can help you move forward with clarity and compassion. Call or email today to get started!

Here’s to new chapters, softer expectations, and meaningful growth.

Dads who play matter. 💛
The tickles, the silly voices, the rough-and-tumble laughter, the quiet moments of love and consistency—they’re not “just fun.” They’re foundational.

When Dads show affection through lighthearted play and steady presence, children learn:
• how to regulate big emotions
• that closeness is safe
• that love doesn’t disappear when feelings get messy

This kind of connection helps children build self-regulation, confidence, and self-acceptance.
They learn: I am loved as I am. My feelings are okay. I can calm myself and ask for support.

Play isn’t a distraction from development—it is development.

✨ If you’re a Dad wanting to strengthen connection or break old patterns, working with a therapist can help you build the kind of relationship that supports both you and your child. Call or email today to get started!

Crying was our first language.
Before words, before explanations—there were tears.
They said I’m hungry, I’m tired, I need you.

Somewhere along the way, we were taught to hide that language.
To call it weakness. To feel shame.

But crying is human.
It’s regulation. It’s release. It’s communication.
It means your nervous system is trying to take care of you—not failing you.

You don’t need to “be stronger.”
You need to be heard, supported, and understood.

✨ If you’re tired of holding it all in, working with a therapist can help you reconnect with your emotions in a safe, supportive way. You don’t have to do it alone. Call or email today to get started!

Mental health matters because it affects how we think, feel, cope, and connect with others—every single day. 🤍
Caring for your mental health doesn’t mean something is ‘wrong.’ It means you’re paying attention to what you need.

Asking for help can look like:
• Talking to someone you trust
• Reaching out to a therapist
• Saying ‘I’m not okay’ without having all the answers

Mental health care means:
• Learning to understand your thoughts and emotions
• Building coping skills
• Getting support before things feel overwhelming

Gentle tips:
• Check in with yourself regularly
• Rest is productive
• Boundaries protect your energy
• You don’t have to do this alone

Our Story

Hello and welcome! I’m Ashley Kalina the owner and founder of Kalina Counseling Services, LLC. I provide online individual, couples, and family counseling services. I offer unique, online counseling sessions using the HIPPA compliant telemedicine platform, iCouch. It truly simulates a virtual private office session. All you need is a computer with web cam and a private space at home or elsewhere so you can talk freely. I work with individuals experiencing a range of mental health symptoms, stressful life circumstances, or those simply looking to improve themselves. I work with couples to improve overall relationship satisfaction and communication. I work with families to re-structure family dynamics and improve family functioning.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and my Master of Arts in Counselor Education with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Florida. I also hold a graduate certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of South Florida. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MT 3409) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH 15590) with the state of Florida.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and very much incorporate that “Minnesota Nice” attitude into my work with clients. I want you to always feel welcome and supported by our therapeutic relationship. Helping others is my passion in life and I look forward to helping you create positive changes in your life!
