Expiration: Without further action, on Jan 31, 2026, telehealth will revert to requiring patients to be in rural areas, restricting originating sites to medical facilities, and limiting the types of providers authorized to offer services.
Audio-Only: Coverage for audio-only, non-behavioral services likely ends.
Behavioral Health: Some exceptions for mental health, including audio-only when video is not feasible, may continue.
Controlled Substances: DEA registration exemptions for prescribing controlled substances via telehealth were extended through December 31, 2026.
