We are entering the final stretch of our business - lots of selling of equipment, packing, cleaning up, and saying “see ya down the road”.
This is where is all started: our dear friends were willing to take a chance on us as a new business based out of their beautiful Unionville farm. We only had three horses our first day in business. And slowly but surely grew!

Our wonderful veterinarian Dr. Celia Goodall has been with us all the way of . She’s our friend, vet, fellow member of the field, and whipper-in! Lots of laughs traveling to joint meets and hunting through all kinds of conditions over the year!

We have had so many great memories owning over the last 7 years that I thought I would share some old photos in the next few weeks before we close.
This was a joint meet (I think it was EHHC) at Mrs. Jones that Cheshire hosted. One of those joint meets that had so many fun people, hard running hounds, and premier country to cross. What a fun day that was!

Seven years ago, Ivan and I were at a cross roads career wise and wanted to pursue our passion of riding and hunting by starting a family business that centers around those two things. Grey Lake Stables was created taking us on an incredible adventure.

Now that Ivan is a full-time fire fighter / EMT and no longer rides while our two beautiful children are growing up, we do not have the time needed to take Grey Lake Stables to the next stage, because of this we have decided to close our doors permanently effective April 1, 2024. We cannot thank our landlord, clients, customers, employees, neighbors, and friends over the years with their on going support as our business grew and changed shape. From fox hunters to lay ups, from winning timber race stakes to importing and selling, this business has taken us to so many great places and introduced us to so many wonderful people. If you sent us a horse, bought a horse from us, took a lesson, attended a clinic, or just clicked “like” on our social media, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!

✨Another day at the office! These two sales horses trained on the hills of Chester County today. Both horses are former racehorses so slow hacking and jogging on the hills gets them stronger for their flat work. Being out in nature keeping them happy in their minds as well. We’re so fortunate to have this view everyday.

Oskar Denarius and his best friend out hunting with Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds this weekend.
Oskar has always had a fan club so to see him looking so great and so happy means the world to so many people. We were lucky enough to have him briefly stay with us at when he came over to race in America. After retiring from racing he has found and is living his best life in Pennsylvania.
