You might see this and think
"Weight management? How is that possible? I tried eating plant-based before and I gained weight"
But let me ask you... What were you mostly eating?
meat substitutes? pasta? french fries?
It's okay! Because a lot of us have been there when we first try. I was there! We think "ok, let's do this!" But really, we don't know where to start or put all that energy right?
So how do you switch to a plant-based lifestyle and maintain a healthy weight? Eat fiber, greens, and plan ahead for starters.
The key to a healthy weight when eating plant-based is to remember what you should be eating most of the time is plants. I'm not saying that you can't eat pasta, dairy-free ice cream, french fries, or meat substitutes. Because eating what you want, have a hankering for, and to be honest what is easy at 6 pm on a Thursday night when the kids are way too loud and you've had a VERY long day is important.
The important thing to remember is that these foods are not a part of your daily intake and that you are π’ƒπ’‚π’π’‚π’π’„π’Šπ’π’ˆ your day with fiber, fruits, vegetables, and water πŸ’•

Hello! I am Jamie. I am a plant-based certified Health & Wellness coach. I have been plant-based for over 5 years.

Before going completely plant-based, I tried eliminating foods I knew I didn't care for or eat often anyway. I saved the foods that I "cherished" for last. That didn't work for me. I ended up going back and forth. From time to time, I found myself eating foods I had previously eliminated. This was because I didn't know how to eat plant-based. I wasn't eating food that tasted good and I wasn't getting the right amount of nutrients and my body knew it needed. That's why I was having cravings. Unfortunately, that early on transitioning from an omnivore diet my body only knew to eat the foods I was trying not to, instead of eating the foods I was trying to eat for a healthier lifestyle. Fast-forward a few years and a lot of research later, and I was eating the right foods my body needed and enjoying the way it tasted!

I knew that what I was cooking really tasted good when other people in my house wanted to eat it too πŸ˜‰
When my doctors started noticing a difference in their office is when I knew that this was working for my health! It wasn't just something I was feeling inside. It showed in the numbers too!

I changed my mindset from "π—œ π—›π—”π—©π—˜ 𝗧𝗒 to 𝑰 π’˜π’‚π’π’• 𝒕𝒐" from "THIS IS TAKING FOREVER to π‘»π’‰π’Šπ’” π’Šπ’” 𝒂 π’π’Šπ’‡π’†π’”π’•π’šπ’π’† π’„π’‰π’‚π’π’ˆπ’†, 𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔, π’†π’π’‹π’π’š π’Šπ’•" Learning to shift my mindset and stop forcing results allowed them to come naturally.

I knew that I needed to help cut out all of this struggle for other people. That's when I decided to become certified as a Health & Wellness Coach, so I could help others with their journey to shift their mindset, discover how to focus on their self-care, and learn how to change their lifestyle to a plant-based diet.
