🥳Somos Bilingües Turns 5! 🎉
Today we celebrate 5 years of equity, inclusion, and impact 🩵

Somos Bilingües was founded with a commitment to provide high-quality, culturally and linguistically responsive multidisciplinary special education support services for children from birth through 12th grade.

While our story began with providing care exclusively within the specialty of bilingualism and special education, we’ve uncovered something so simple, yet unconventional…. Holistic evaluations beyond standardized testing should be a right for ALL children.

Every child (not only bilingual children) deserves care that honors their unique needs, culture, and strengths.

Monolingual children also have a unique story to share- one filled with culture, experiences, and dialects of English that oftentimes provides the missing piece to completing their puzzle.

🇩🇴 Jocelyn Hernández is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Speech Therapist of Dominican Heritage. She received her undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology & Childhood Education and graduate degree in Recreational Education from Lehman College.

Jocelyn brings 25 years of experience to Somos Bilingues in her role as Clinical Director; working with students from multicultural backgrounds with varying levels of disorders from early intervention through high school. She also has experience working as care coordinator for OPWDD to ensure students with disabilities receive the necessary services to navigate everyday life. She strongly believes in the power of advocating for those who can’t advocate for themselves.
