Did you know women couldn’t even register for races until 1967?
That wasn’t that long ago. Our mothers and grandmothers lived that reality.
That’s why I love the . 👑🐝
It’s a race for women, by women. A space that celebrates strength, sisterhood, and the miles we’ve had to fight for. 💪🏽
This year felt different. I didn’t have the same drive or excitement, and honestly, I didn’t even want to do it. 🥴
But I still showed up. For the women who couldn’t, once upon a time.
When I crossed that finish line, I felt a mix of sadness, relief, and strength.
Sadness for how far we’ve had to come just to be seen.
Relief that I showed up even when it was hard.
And strength because every step reminded me that I can.
Every mile we ran today honors the women who weren’t allowed to. 🐝💖
