Ferreira Funeral Services - Lake City Providing Funeral Services in North Florida and across the first coast. Ever since we opened our gates we have approached life (and death) differently.

While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. John Michael Saunders, age 59, passed away on July 31, 2025.

John was born and raised in Boston and spent much of his life working in the construction industry before relocating to Florida. In 2018, he pursued his passion for small engine repair and started a business fixing lawn mowers. It was during this time he earned the nickname “Mower Man” and met his fiancée, Teresa.

John had a deep love of music and a gift for storytelling. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, always ready to share a wild story or lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his fiancée, Teresa Posey of Lake City, FL; his daughter, Nicole Saunders, and fiancé, Mark Tiernan, also of Lake City, FL; his brothers, Walter Saunders and wife Sherry Burris of Lake City, FL, and William Saunders and wife Patricia of Connecticut; his sisters, Loretta Ross (Robert) of Rochester, NY, and Susan Maniscalco of Boston; as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.

John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
