Let’s hope the US Senate can get this done! Feel free to reach out to your US Senators to make sure that this critical research funding continues!

FARE commends the champions of the food allergy community at the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee. The two bills advanced bring us another step closer to: increasing resources for the important work of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) clinical research, including as part of the Consortium for Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) research network; maintaining critical support for school-based efforts to address food allergies and lower anaphylactic fatalities; and ensuring a portion of federal peer-reviewed research funding can be allocated to food allergies.

A reprieve for the next week!

POLLEN REPORT: Tuesday, August 5, 2025
Today's W**D pollen rating is 7 LOW.
Today's TREE pollen rating is 3 LOW.
Today's GRASS pollen rating is 1 LOW.

POLLEN FORECAST [PRS]:
Wed 8/6: Weeds = 7 LOW, Grasses & Trees = 1 LOW.
Thu 8/7: Weeds = 13 LOW, Grasses = 9 LOW, Trees = 3 LOW.
Fri 8/8: Weeds = 19 LOW, Grasses = 9 LOW, Trees = 3 LOW.

Tree pollen is LOW (33% Elm, 33% Cedar/Juniper, and 33% Other Trees). Cold air damming has kept temperatures well below normal with steady rain helping to keep all pollen levels LOW today. The cold air wedge should continue to hold over the Triad tomorrow and for the better part of Thursday before finally weakening, though unsettled weather should continue to bring periodic precipitation to the area through Friday. All pollen levels (especially w**d pollen) should eventually see an uptick in pollen grain production the cold air wedge breaks. With that said, pollen levels should continue to remain LOW the rest of the week and into the weekend. (Payne)

Another option for life-saving for our allergy patients!

Another option for life-saving for our allergy patients!

The FDA has accepted the New Drug Application for Anaphylm, a sublingual (under-the-tongue) epinephrine film being developed by Aquestive Therapeutics, Inc. for the treatment of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. A decision is expected by January 31, 2026.
Why does this matter? Access and ease of use can make a life-saving difference during an allergic reaction. We look forward to having even more options for treatment for the food allergy community.
