We are currently composed of seven physicians and two nurse practioners with a common passion in assuming a leading role in women’s health care to our community of Western North Carolina.

Maternal Mental Health Awareness is a week-long campaign that is dedicated to talking about mental health problems that can develop across the full spectrum of reproductive life: before, during and after pregnancy or even while navigating
infertility or pregnancy loss.

During this campaign:

•We are raising public and professional awareness of the full spectrum of maternal mental health challenges.
•Advocating for the women that experience this as well as considering the impact it has on their families and relationships.
•Changing attitudes: this is a safe place to discuss whatever you may be feeling!
•Ensuring that people have access to accurate information, care and support to allow for appropriate treatment and growth


At Laurel OB Gyn we strive to ensure that each patient feels safe and heard at any stage of their life. Whether you are a first-time mom facing the unknown, an experienced mom learning to juggle a growing family’s needs, or someone struggling with motherhood yet to come, we are here to help you get the care that you need.

March is endometriosis awareness month! This is a condition in which the type of tissue that forms the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) is found outside the uterus and contributes to painful periods. Endometriosis affects roughly 10% (190 million) of reproductive age women and girls globally. Laurel OB/GYN offers treatment options to help you manage endometriosis and its symptoms. Dr. Kaplon and Dr. Antono are trained and certified in minimally-invasive robotic surgery for the removal of endometriosis lesions. Please feel free to call our office to schedule an appointment if you have any questions!

Hello Laurel Patients,

We will remain open as long as it is safe for patients and our staff. However, if the weather changes suddenly we will close to ensure all patients and staff make it home safely. We will call all patients that appointment times are affected to reschedule as soon as our staff are back in the office, if that occurs.
