Make an appointment if your ready to break the cycle.
This one hits hard because it’s true.
If we don’t face what’s hurting us, we pass it on.
Not always through words, but through patterns. Through reactions. Through silence. Through shame.
You can’t fully parent your child if you haven’t learned how to look after the child within you.
The one that drinks to cope.
The one that hides pain behind humour.
The one that lashes out, or shuts down, or reaches for the bottle when things get too much.
When I was drinking, I thought I was functioning fine.
I was there. I provided.
But I wasn’t present. Not properly.
I was stuck in my own unhealed stuff.
And that affected the way I showed up.
Sobriety isn’t just about removing the alcohol.
It’s about getting honest with yourself.
Looking at the pain you’ve been carrying for years.
And deciding not to hand it over to your kids.
Facing your demons doesn’t make you weak.
It makes you brave.
And it gives your children something powerful. A parent who chooses healing over hiding.
