What is dedication? Dedication is the quality of being dedicated or committed , to a task or purpose. I can think of no other greater example than the years of dedication you have shown to the communities you have served. Your first thoughts always asked for The safety protection and happiness and well-being of our community members.
What is sacrifice? Sacrifice is an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy. The sacrifices you have made in your own personal life for the better of the committees you have served have not gone unnoticed by those who know you best .
What is honor? Honor is an adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct. There is no better living example of what honor is . You have set the standards ,not only in your life in the fire house ,but as well as acommunity member ,and man . You have always made the best choices for the better of all around you . Your actions are proven to be selfless no matter the circumstance.
There are not enough words that I could put down on a piece of paper that could commend you enough . You are invaluable to our communities and always will be. You are an example to all of those around you . Future fireman /firewomen and future leaders will have the greatest example of what a life in service for the better of our communities truly means .
Dan Vanfossen I am so proud of you and I love you so very much. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re going to do next!

Bethlehem Township Office of Emergency Management would like to announce the "retirement" of Deputy OEM Coordinator Dan Vanfossen. Dan has served as Deputy OEM for over 10 years. He has a long standing history of service to Bethlehem Township and surrounding communities as having served 20 + years as Chief of Pattenburg Fire Dept, Deputy OEM and led in numerous search and rescue missions with his K9. His knowledge and close relationships with local Fire and EMS agencies that serve our community played a strong and important role in our OEM community. He has won several awards and commendations from not only Bethlehem Township, but surrounding towns as well for his long time volunteerism and support in helping the local communities.
Please help me congratulate Dan Vanfossen on all his accomplishments. It was a pleasure working with you all these years. Thank you for all you have done and I wish you all the best on your future endeavors.
