Our Why: Addressing Veteran Su***de
One of our primary missions is to tackle the tragic reality of veteran su***de in the U.S. Officially, 22 veterans die by su***de every day, though some estimates suggest the number is closer to 44. This is unacceptable. Our heroes deserve better, and we believe that plant-based therapies hold tremendous promise in helping veterans cope with the traumatic experiences they endured during their service.
Emerging therapies, including medical cannabis and psychedelic-assisted treatments, are providing new hope for veterans. However, as we all know, access to these therapies remains a significant barrier due to stigma, legal restrictions, and a general lack of understanding. It’s time for change, and we are committed to being part of that change.
Our Campaign: Supporting Veterans
We’ve set an ambitious goal to raise a minimum of $200,000 to support 10+ veterans suffering from PTSD and other mental health challenges. These funds will cover a life-changing wellness experience at Coral Cove Wellness Retreat in Jamaica, where they will receive personalized treatment in a holistic setting. The funds will also cover airfare, lodging, meals, and all associated costs for this transformative journey.
This initiative is more than just a retreat; it’s part of a broader effort to support post-traumatic growth (PTG) and provide veterans with the care they need to heal and thrive. In collaboration with Cannim, we are also conducting a large-scale research program to study the impact of these therapies on reducing PTSD in veterans, with the goal of making these treatments more accessible and reducing the stigma surrounding them.
