ETherapy for Persons of Color We aim to end the stigma that keeps People of Color from finding the help they need and deserve. About Dr. Chanelle Richards, Ph.D.

This is a space that presents mental health topics in a way that is accessible and relevant to you. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of NY, with 14 years of experience treating adults, couples, and adolescents. I have specialized training in psychological and neuropsychological testing, as well as focus in working with professional minorities and women of color. I practice from an integrative approach and I have extensive experience in treating anxiety and mood disorders, relationship issues, stress management, and major life changes in diverse clinical settings, including correctional facilities, nursing homes and rehabilitative centers, and private practice.

Every time you beat yourself up, you’re triggering the same regions that process social pain — rejection, embarrassment, humiliation.

This is why harsh self-talk leaves you feeling heavy, anxious, and even physically tense.

Becoming aware of your inner dialogue and shifting to compassionate self-talk can literally rewire your brain to feel safer.
