Our hearts go out to all the families and communities impacted by the recent flooding across Texas. We know this has been a deeply stressful and emotional time especially for families of children with autism, who may experience flooding impacts more intensely.

To the first responders working tirelessly to protect and care for those in need: thank you. Your courage, compassion, and selflessness do not go unnoticed.

Looking for Omaha activities? Registration is open!👇

Join AAP for an exclusive Zoo Night for the autism community on Saturday, August 23 at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo!

Registration opens Thursday, July 3 at 12 PM (noon).

This is a night for people on the autism spectrum and their loved ones who may not get to go to the Zoo other times of the year due to a number of different factors such as sensory differences. Please only sign up if you are part of this community, as it could be taking away the opportunity for another family who only gets to go during these events.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of our recent zoo events—and a high number of no-shows after registration—we’re introducing registration limits and a small fee to help ensure spots are reserved by those who truly plan to attend. Our goal is to make sure as many families as possible can enjoy this special experience together!

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING ON THURSDAY
Important details:
- $2 per ticket
- Maximum of 6 tickets per family
- If you purchase more than 6, only 6 will be reserved and you’ll receive a follow-up email. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR THOSE WHO PURCHASE MORE THAN 6 TICKETS.
- This is an after-hours event — some animals may not be visible due to their natural sleep cycles
- The penguin exhibit lights will be dimmed to maintain the natural sleep cycle of the animals
-Lights in the Kingdom of the Night will be very low until 8:00pm when they turn on.
- Concessions will be available
- The gift shop will be open and wheelchairs/strollers are available for rental

Our clients got crafty making bunny ears and while it may look like just fun and fluff, they were actually targeting fine motor coordination and completing task analyzed activities 🎨✂️

With every fold, twist, and hop, they’re building independence and growing through ABA one bunny ear at a time! 🐇💪
