Insight is good… but encounter takes first place.

Out of a season of chaplaincy and prayer, a vision was born: an experiential Psalm 23 prayer walk on our land—inviting hearts to slow down, listen, and meet God in fresh ways. 🌿💧

We’re building it… and you’re invited to help, pray, give, or simply come walk it yourself.

We had a beautiful time in Hawaii, spreading Israel’s parents’ ashes, visiting family and going on various adventures. Here’s the 20 second overview:

My friend Julie Honeycutt and her husband, James, have put together an incredible workshop. If you are at all interested in the IFS model and how it interfaces with ancient Christian theology, I *highly* recommend attending. Check out the link for more info!

A PRAYER FOR MOTHERS’ DAY
Peter Greig

For mothers today, joy.
For orphans, comfort.
For not-yet mothers, hope.
For single mothers, grace.
For those who are lonely, family.

Grace today
For the mothers of prodigals,
For those who have lost children,
For those who don’t know where their children are.

May the embrace of grace displace shame and pain
For mothers in prison,
For those who can’t feed a baby,
For those who miscarried
And those who suffered a termination.

May those who never held their own child,
For whom today is sadder than it is happy,
Know the love and joy of parenting
in the family of God

As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;
and you will be comforted.
~ Isaiah 66:13

Hey friends!

I’m excited to be part of a new opportunity to go deeper into the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises—this time with a focus on walking with couples as well as individuals.

If you’ve been through the Exercises or are curious about them, check out what’s coming up for 2025–2026. It might be for you—or someone you love!

Hello, friends! This August, I’ll begin an advanced practicum in spiritual direction through Curate Ministries—a yearlong formation experience focused on guiding individuals and couples through the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. As part of this next step in my journey, I’m offering a few specia...

Day 9: An Invitation to Vulnerability
Read: John 11:1-16, 14:5, 20:19-29
Prompt:
You are “Doubting Thomas”. You experienced Jesus’ power raising Lazarus from the dead. You were around the table during the last supper when Jesus responded to your honest question with confidence: “You know the way to where I am going.” You longed for truth and Jesus met you in that longing. But now, everything you had hoped for was gone and you disappeared into an abyss of isolation when he was arrested. You are a realist and you rely on your sharp mind to protect you. None of these resurrection rumors make logical sense.
What will it take for you to believe?
You are in the upper room, with doors locked. You show up because it’s all you know to do. Suddenly, Jesus is standing in front of you.
What do you see/hear/feel?
What happens in your heart?
How does he interact with you?
How do you respond?

So deeply grateful to have journeyed with these women through the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Wake Forest Baptist this year. I’m also excited for the opportunity to continue on as a Chaplain Associate at Lexington Medical Center. More thoughts to come, but for now I’m just taking a moment to celebrate!
