Hey all Happy Valentine's Day!
Take some time today to show your gut some love with this "Ginger strawberry lemonade" your gut will love!

1 cup fresh strawberries, cut
5-6 lemons (about 1 1/2 cups of juice
1/4 cup of honey, maple syrup, agave or sweetener of your choice
6 cups sparkling or still water
2 cups ginger beer

1. Mash strawberries till they are very juicy. Put through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients (adjust the amount of sweetener and ginger beer to your liking.
3. Enjoy and thank you for your guts for all its hard work!!

I am very excited to share with you my first ever loaf of homemade bread! This humble loaf has quite the story to tell.

For years I’ve had this notion that letting yeast rise or creating a starter for sourdough was too difficult for me. And after many attempts, I decided to take a step back and build some confidence.

So one night I said, “I’m making bread tonight!” and I just did it. It wasn’t hard or tricky, it just worked!

Sometimes in life we have these mental blocks. It isn’t until we finally give ourselves the space to try that we realize that we had it the whole time. And success tastes so good!

I started a new ginger bug for ginger beer today! This is super easy way to incorporate more probiotics in your diet, and is so fulfilling to make! It does take some time a patience but is well worth it !

To make your ginger bug (your starter) place the following ingredients in a jar
1 Tbsp on grated ginger
1 Tbsp of cane sugar
2 cups of water

Let sit in a warm dark place for 5-7 days. Feed 1tsp of ginger and sugar daily to feed the probiotics.

When it bubbles on its own or from stirring it is ready to be made into ginger beer. The warmer the environment the faster it will ferment!

I have successfully made fermented ginger beer!!! This ginger beer is rich in probiotics, and will be great support for the gut. I have been diving into fermenting lately and this was my first project. I have decided to try one new ferment a week this summer, and will be sharing my projects here.

Probiotics are the good bacteria in your gut and throughout your body that help you break down and process your food. Your stool is up to 80% bacteria which means it is incredibly important to replenish the good bacteria in your gut.

Follow my fermenting journey and I will continue to share more facts about probiotics.
