Most people go on vacation to sunbathe on a beach, go camping, or explore a new culture.
Me? I just wanted to visit Edgar Allan Poe’s final resting place.
And I did. And it was glorious. 🖤

On the way there, I told my daughter all about Poe—his dark tales, his haunting poetry, and why he means so much to me. I even read The Raven out loud in the car so she could really feel the vibe. Considering what I do for work and who I am as a person, this kind of trip just makes sense.

We visited Westminster Church and Cemetery in Baltimore. Poe's newer grave is beautifully marked and well-maintained, but I had to visit the original one too—off to the side, quieter, but still deeply sacred.

At his original grave, I laid coins as an offering. And as I was walking away… I happened to glance down. Right there next to the path, sitting quietly like it had been waiting for me, was a small bird bone and a blackish feather.

I picked it up with reverence. It felt like a gift. A nod from Spirit.

Chills. Absolute chills.

No beach needed. Just me, Poe, a graveyard, and a little touch of magic.
