This is such an exciting announcement. It is great to see an industry leader like Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts commit to improving health equity and outcomes.

Scanning the report, 71% of African Am. compared to 82% of whites with BP control for Diabetics. Clearly, there is a lot of work to be done. Aligned incentives, rigorous measurement, transparent reporting, and a commitment to learn and being the best at getting better, are all key. Would love to learn more and partner to improve outcomes.

The novel approach employs the most powerful tool health insurers can wield — their dollars.

Kudos to you Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Thank you for your leadership, commitment and investment in infrastructure to collect and report the data that leads to a better understanding of health inequities. As an IOM dimension of quality, making these disparities transparent, promotes important awareness and elevates the conversation around system transformation and improvement prioritization. Scanning the report, 69% of African Am. compared to 80% of whites with a yearly well child or OB/GYN visit. Clearly, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Would love to meet people working in this area and partner to improve outcomes.

Had the privilege yesterday at the OPEN MINDS Circle Executive retreat in Gettysburg, PA to attend a session on the importance of the "high ground" as it related to the battle and the many applications for leadership. A wonderful session, with General Buford's actions on day 1 ensuring his men and the army as a whole, were "positioned and prepared" for the challenges ahead.
