Hi šŸ‘‹ it’s me again—your friendly reminder that breastfeeding can be a total sh*tshow to get started… and then somehow turn into the ā€œbreastfeeding out of lazinessā€ era.

🫠 It fixes every toddler meltdown
🫠 It buys you extra sleep when you nurse in bed at 5am
🫠 It’s fast. It’s easy. It works.

Why would I stop? Seriously.

If you’ve entered this phase… drop a šŸ’•in the comments so we can all feel seen.
Cause bf in toddlerhood was for sure my fav part!

So many people have been watching this šŸ’©šŸ”„dumpster fire and asking for how to help so here you go friends…. Sponsor a p**p pill or 3 šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ‘‡šŸ‘‡

I never imagined I’d be fundraising for šŸ’©p**p—but here we are, guys🫠.

I have CVID, a rare immune disorder that makes it hard to fight infections. My immune system is basically very confused and very lame. And now I’ve developed …..

CVID enteropathy—an even rarer gut complication, because apparently I like to keep things ✨spicy✨.

It causes major dysfunction (sort of like Chron’s disease but rarer and less known treatments), chronic gut inflammation, major malabsorption, and has completely hijacked my quality of life.

I’ve had C. diff, I’ve done the meds and all the fda approved therapies —and the one thing that actually worked?

šŸ’Š F***l Microbiota Transplant (FMT) — yep, p**p pills.
I got one in 2023 and it literally saved my life. Back when the world was saner and this treatment more accessible.

Now I need another, but thanks to FDA ā€¼ļøred tape and insurance being trash, this life-saving therapy is only available privately (and even so if very hard to find)—and costs $7,000 out of pocket.

Each pill costs $75, and I need 70+. Per round and likely this will be on-going
Want to sponsor 1 or 2?

If ur like cool I’ll pass then sent me some good vibes and hope and prayers
šŸ’© Comment FMT and I’ll DM you the GoFundMe link.
šŸ’— Or share this post with someone who’s into rare diseases, p**p jokes, or helping a chronically ill mom hustle for her health.

Ps to my dear private polite husband who is quietly mortified I both talk about t**s and p**p on the internet šŸ›œ I love you. 😘 just let this happen honey.

To everyone šŸ’•From the bottom of my questionable gut: thank you.

Oversupply struggles? Drop a ā€˜HELP’ in the comments, and I’ll share how to book an insurance-covered lactation visit to get things flowing smoothly (pun intended)!

Comment clogs and I’ll send you the blog!

13 years ago with my first as soon I was saw even the whisper of redness on my breast I was on the phone to my OBGYN to have them call in antibiotics. I probably was one antibiotics at least 10 times between my 2 kids and looking back I’m not sure any of it was needed.

Fast forward to now and I supporting my sister with her first baby. She has had 3 clogs in the last 5.5. Months all have resolved within 48-72 hours without any antibiotics. What a gift to her microbiome!!!!

I’m glad we have antibiotics for cases that really need them but it should not be a rush to get on them. There is a lot we can do to support your body from lymphatic massage and breast gymnastics created by Maya Bolman IBCLC. When we know better we do better!!!

Calling all fence sister, procrastinators, ā€œsee how it goesā€ girls, ā€œit’s no so badā€ girls ….come join us!

In b**b school where we do hard things in community
No guilt, no shame.
We pivot, change our minds
Cheer each other on
Say me too you’re not alone.
I remember that …it gets better
This is how breastfeeding is mean to be.

Not on an island of worry with you and google or Reddit or that toxic mom group…
Truly it can be so much better!

The Balanced B**b Begins

Let me introduce myself!

Hi! I am Kelly Kendall founder of The Balanced B**b. I am a registered nurse and an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC). When I had my first child I was sure things would go smoothly. I was a postpartum nurse for goodness sake! Ummm…nope.

After pushing through tongue tie and lip tie (both kids), mastitis, and postpartum anxiety (I know I was a hot mess) I was able to find my stride with breastfeeding. Eventually, I was able to lean in and trust my body and trust my baby to to set the pace. Breastfeeding my kids are some of my most treasured memories. But TRUST ME I didn’t get there on my own. I found clinical expertise from talented lactation consultants and community with other new moms. These people lit the way for me to find my own unique breastfeeding path. This is what I would like to do for you. This is why I became a lactation consultant. You and your amazing baby are the star of this show; I am just the backup dancer. Let me help light the way and ease the burden of uncertainty so you and your baby can find your own beautiful rhythm.
