"Mary Linda Bollman, a 76-year-old resident of Louisville Gardens, has shown remarkable determination and resilience since beginning her journey with us in October 2024. When Mary Linda first arrived, she required the use of a Hoyer lift for all staff-assisted transfers, relying heavily on support for even the most basic mobility tasks.
Over the past month, however, Mary Linda has made extraordinary progress through her dedication to Occupational Therapy. With consistent effort and a positive mindset, she has worked tirelessly to build her strength, improve her endurance, and develop greater safety awareness and confidence in her movements.
Today, Mary Linda has reached an incredible milestone—she is now able to walk 9 feet within parallel bars, a significant achievement that reflects her perseverance and courage. Even more inspiring, she has made progress completing self-care transfers with staff assistance without the use of a Hoyer lift. In addition, Mary Linda can now independently propel her wheelchair throughout the facility, giving her a greater sense of independence and freedom.
Mary Linda’s journey is a true success story and a testament to what can be accomplished with hard work, determination, and the support of a dedicated care team. We are incredibly proud of her progress and inspired by her commitment. We look forward to seeing how Mary Linda continues to grow and achieve even more in the days ahead."
