As someone who lost my beloved firefighter husband just a few years ago from esophageal cancer, I know how difficult it can be to make healthy choices after a loss. If it weren’t for Functional Medicine, I’d be unhealthy and depressed. I’d also be alone and without laughter. I am a Functional Medicine Health Coach who is passionate about helping widows and widowers to gain health, humor, and love

back into their lives.

Holy Constellations!

This morning the stars were shining through the bedroom window and woke me up at 5:30 AM. They were BRILLIANT! Up here in Northern Maine it's a dark dark sky. Even with darkening shades, they still manage to peek through.

Dave's favorite constellation was Orion. It was our link. When I was traveling, we'd talk every night and look out our windows, invariably Orion the Hunter was there for us both - an instant connection.

Jeff here at camp often sees the Big Dipper filling up the sky over the pond, literally filling up the whole window. Jeff is an avid hunter, and rifle season begins tomorrow!

He didn't know about Orion the Hunter. Coincidence between the Big Dipper and Orion? I think not.

I had to get up and out this morning, the Big Dipper was in front over the pond, and when I looked to the back, Orion was right there.

My heart rose to my throat, and tears pushed out.

How do you capture memories of your loved one? After my beloved Dave died, I felt so lost. I wasn’t sure what my next steps would be, or who I was going to be without the man that I loved. So I started writing. I wrote down every story and memory I could muster. I could have never imagined the journey that was in store for me. That journal of memories transformed into my first book, my mind, body, and spirit began to heal, and Life Part 2 became a mission to help widows and widowers want to embrace life again.

I want to hear from YOU!

For those of you who are new to the page, I wanted to take a moment and tell you my story and hear more about you. I'm the founder of Happy Healthy Widowhood, a best-selling author, and Certified Health Coach who is passionate about coaching widows and widowers to gain health, humor, and love back into their lives.

As someone who lost my beloved firefighter husband just a few years ago from esophageal cancer, I know how difficult it can be to make healthy choices after a loss.

As a result of my positive lifestyle changes, the widow fog lifted, my energy and health returned, and I wanted to embrace life again. Once my mind, body, and spirit were healed, love walked into my heart again.

And now here I am, grateful for my new purpose of helping widows and widowers Live Well, Laugh More, and even Love Again.
