I hit my water goal effortlessly every day. Here's what I do:

1) No coffee until I've had 10-16oz water.

I take this opportunity to take my morning supplements (mix the powder into water, take my pills w/ that beverage). I also go sit in the sunlight for 3 min while drinking this to wake up. Then I can have coffee.

2) Use a water bottle with a straw

They do this for hospital patients to get them to drink more water - why wouldn't we do the same?

3) Water bottle comes with me everywhere.

keys, wallet, water bottle. I don't even go around the corner without bringing it with me. This keeps me from having to purchase random bottles or use random water fountains.

4) Swap afternoon beverage with/flavored water or iced tea.

Now I have a fun drink that also counts towards my water goal.

5) No sodas / cocktails until water goal is achieved.

Most of the time when we have sodas/cocktails not only are we adding empty calories, we are dehydrating ourselves and missing our water goal. This helps me have less of these empty calories and more of what my body really needs.

6) Count refills, not ounces. I don't think about "Oh I'm at 80/96 oz for the day". I think about - "I need to refill this bottle 1 more time to hit my goal". It makes it way easier to track without having to mark down every 8 oz glass of water.

Feeling stupid helped me succeed...

When I was in college, I had a choice to study physiology with 2 groups of people - my friends, or the neuroscience majors.

I would have rather studied with my friends.

They made me laugh and they knew how to have fun.

I didn't really want to study with the neuroscience majors...

They were a bit shy and made me feel stupid by comparison of their genius.

However, my friends were unfocused so I made myself study with the neuroscience majors.

I was the least intelligent of the group and struggled constantly to keep up.

By the end of the semester though...

I was the only student in my friend group to receive an A in physiology - one of the most difficult classes on campus.

So my question for you is...

WHO is in your circle of influence?

Jim Rohn said “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Do you have someone who will PUSH you?

Do you have someone who will keep you ACCOUNTABLE and HONEST?

Are you willing to push through feeling INADEQUATE to get what you want?

Or are you still being the big fish in the small pond?

Where you feel comfortable and unchallenged.

And are you willing to get temporarily UNCOMFORTABLE to get the health results you desire?

Your SAT score doesn't define you... so why does your weight?⚖
We say that the scale is just a tool, yet when we jump on it, we are pumped if it's lower than we wanted, and disappointed if it's higher than we wanted 🙃
Damn. That's a pretty narrow range of achievement we are giving ourselves 😔
I can tell you from experience, the scale has NEVER reflected the hard work I put in that week 😒
I've worked my ass off some weeks and seen it go up ⬆️
I've fallen off track other weeks and for some reason it went down ⬇️
So why are we relying on this 1 number to determine our success? There must be more to it 🧐
Once I learned how to shift my focus from the scale to the process, I went from stagnant to racing towards my goals. I achieved them without even trying that hard 🤷‍♀️

But, we should make ourselves aware of our eating habits.🍽
You don't want to be OBSESSED with what you eat, but you also don't want to be completely ignorant to it. 😒
I know it sounds complicated, but it actually goes back to the concept of balance - somewhere in the middle is usually best. ⚖
Whether your goals are to lose, gain, maintain, improve your relationship with food, WHATEVER - we can all benefit from seeing & tracking our habits. 🏃‍♀️
Luckily we have many tools to do this, without ever having to break out the calculator! 🧮

If you are experiencing one or more of these - don't panic. It's okay. 🙏 But let's re-evaluate BEFORE it get's ugly. 🙁
Because I've been there, and it can get REAL bad REAL fast. 😥
Remember that if the methods aren't healthy, the results won't be either. ⏳
Healthy = enjoyable. The two should not be "similar" or sometimes overlap.
THEY SHOULD BE THE SAME ✔
This isn't always easy though...
So let's get figure it out TOGETHER 👭
