✨ Big news for pumping parents! ✨

The tiniest pump part just made a HUGE difference. With Cimilre's advocacy and collective voices from parents and partners, breast pump replacement valves will now be covered by insurance through a new CMS billing code.

Why it matters ➡️ Valves need to be replaced often (about every month!) to keep your pump working properly. Now, families no longer have to shoulder that cost out of pocket.

This change means more access, more support, and more confidence for breastfeeding parents everywhere. 🙌

📅 Effective October 1st – check with your insurance provider or the DME you got your pump from to take advantage of this new benefit!

August is National Breastfeeding Month. This year’s theme is Forward Together. 💕

First and foremost, a HUGE thank you to the moms and parents that pour love, hard work, time, and dedication into their little ones. Whatever your journey looks like, we see you and appreciate the sacrifices, sweat, and tears. Keep up the great work. It's not always easy - heck, it can be pretty darn hard at times - but your efforts do not go unnoticed and DO make a crucial difference.

Breastfeeding/chestfeeding provides crucial benefits for babies, parents, employers, public health, and the economy at large. Yet, it's important to realize that breastfeeding parents cannot be expected to go this road alone. It takes a village of support. Lactation professionals, family, employers, advocates, and local and national policies all play a part in providing the support that can help parents meet and exceed their breastfeeding goals.

Forward Together, with solidarity, unity, and hope - organizations and advocates can help advance policies, systems, and environmental change that feeding families so deeply deserve and benefit society at large.

📣 We’re advocating for change—and we need your voice.

On Monday, June 2, 2025, Cimilre will present to CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) to advocate for a HCPCS code for breast pump valves—essential parts that many families still pay for out of pocket. Just like other pump parts, valves should be covered by insurance.

Why it matters:

💧 Valves are critical for a pump to work.
🔁 They need frequent replacing to keep suction strong.
💸 Covering them through insurance, Medicaid, and WIC would ease costs and expand access for families everywhere.

This week is dedicated to shining a light on a critical issue that impacts so many families and communities - Black Maternal Health.

Did you know that Black women are 3.5 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than White women? It's staggering and heartbreaking. Even worse, the majority of these deaths are preventable. Systematic oppression and healthcare inequities have very real consequences.

Together, though, we can create lasting change by educating ourselves (and others), advocating for equitable healthcare policies, and supporting community initiatives.
