As we celebrate Black History Month, LKiChoice recognizes and honors the impactful contributions of Black advocates who have dedicated themselves to advancing the rights and inclusivity of individuals with disabilities.

Wilma Rudolph defied the odds to become an Olympic champion and a trailblazer for social change.

After being diagnosed with polio and scarlet fever as a child, she overcame physical challenges to win three gold medals in track and field at the 1960 Olympics, earning the title “fastest woman in the world.”

Refusing to attend a segregated homecoming parade, she used her platform to advocate for equality. Her legacy lives on through her contributions to sports, education, and civil rights.
