Now that it is starting to get chilly a few things to keep in mind:

🍁After the first hard frost of the season it is important to deworm our equine companions. Try picking a product that also kills tapeworms. (Equimax, Zimectrin Gold, Quest Plus)

🍁Vaccine Boosters should be done in the fall as well, specifically respiratory vaccines for our horses traveling and competing. (Depending on your horses vaccine schedule.)

“Hi there everybody, my name is Rocky! I am a 12 year old chocolate lab and, boy, do I love to play frisbee. Every time mom and dad let me out, I make sure to grab it! Over the last couple years though, it has been harder for me to get around. I don’t have the stamina to run very far or fast, am slower to lay down and stand up, and takes me longer to climb stairs. I can’t even jump into mom’s jeep anymore to go bye bye. This aging thing is no joke. For the last few years, Mom has given me extra treats in my food that she says helps my joints. They do help, but I was still hurting. I just didn’t want to tell her because I could tell she was worried about me enough.

Typical mom, she told me she wanted to try something else. Once a week, we go see this nice lady named Laura who lets me kiss her whole face, gives me treats and scratches in all the best places! What is PEMF?

You’ve probably heard of the benefits of PEMFs, and you’re wondering what exactly this therapy involves. PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic fields, which sound a little scary, but it’s really just using magnets to help your body heal. The first use was in the 1970s when doctors used it to heal bone fractures that wouldn’t heal on their own.

Why is pemf beneficial?

Modern medicine has continued to use PEMFs with success and uses them to treat depression, chronic pain, insomnia, post-operative pain and other ailments.

…So how does PEMF actually work?

Its all due to the magnetic pulse that is emitted from your PEMF system.

The first and foremost way it works is by reducing inflammation in your cells by improving circulation, decreasing oxidative stress, and increasing lymphatic drainage of toxins. Essentially, when your body has inflammation, you can’t heal properly. You need to reduce those deep levels of inflammation so your body can start healing!

‼️Since PEMF is becoming increasingly popular… here are some things to look for or ask the person providing a session for you or your animal.

•Are they certified and insured?

•What is PEMF & how does it work?

•What are the contraindications? I ask a ton of questions any time a person is near the coils and people sometimes giggle. THIS MACHINE IS POWERFUL!!!!! It is not a play toy and could seriously harm someone, especially if they 100% rely on their pacemaker. There are contraindications for humans & animals!

•What should I expect after a session and how often should a session be provided?

•What size is the PEMF machine? If the machine is small, session time may be longer. If the machine is a suitcase on wheels, session time will be shorter.

•How long is a session? This will depend on the machine.

•What if I don’t feel anything during the PEMF session or what if I can’t see my animal moving? Depending on the reason for the session, you may not feel or see anything. The strength from the machine required depends on the reason for the session. For example… Nerve regeneration has a lower healing frequency versus ligament healing.

‼️This next one is important……‼️

**Unless the person providing the PEMF session is a License Medical Doctor or Licensed Veterinarian, a diagnosis can NOT be made!!!!!

***If there is an acute injury, please call your P*P or Veterinarian first! If PEMF is the choice of therapy advised/recommended then we can collaboratively work together to benefit you or your animal.

I understand it is difficult to get an appointment as soon as desired. PEMF is my full time job and I am forever grateful for my nursing background. Please be patient as I am not always quick to respond. I will get back to you, I promise!

With that being said, I do talk to local PEMF Machine owners….. I will be referring clients to trusted and qualified PEMF practitioners, when applicable.
