Finally a moment to announce the newest arrival!

Eden was born March 2nd at 4:41am, 9lbs 1oz and very healthy.

This labor has already changed my mindset as a doula, and I will never be the same again. I'm eager to share my story, but still working on processing for myself. Stay tuned 💖

I'm winding down with my last two labor clients before I give birth myself in late February, and reflecting on this amazing year.

Good morning from my sleepy backyard to yours!
Yesterday, I attended my third birth of the summer, and today I recover with coffee, donuts and this beautiful hint of Fall air.
I feel particularly grateful, for with this third birth I submit my paperwork for Labor Doula Certification with the CAPPA organization.
Never in my life did I think this was going to be my path, yet here I am, nestled into an amazing support system of friends and doulas. I am so excited for the future ☀️

Fun fact about your Woven Circle Doula: I have a Fine Arts Degree in Ceramics.

This piece called "Witchy Woman", created during high school, will always be one of my favorites. It was a time I truly found my flow, time melted away, and it felt amazing.

Emotions are more complex than our minds can truly grasp. Tough times, happy times, stuck times, sometimes we can't find the words. Our emotions are held in our bodies and can actually prevent labor from moving smoothly. I encourage anyone- pregnant, postpartum, struggling with infertility, deciding children isn't right for them, and everywhere in between, try to do something with your hands. Garden, draw, paint, glue random found objects together, doodle, smash a plate (but wear safety glasses), DO something to release some emotion from your body.

Trust me: you'll feel better.

A bit late to the game, but I had such a great time at with and , representing the Iowa Baby Ladies Agency this past Saturday!
I respond to the energy of others, and being with those expecting parents, talking all things pregnancy and baby, was so rewarding. A huge bonus was seeing faces of our local birthing community that until then, I had only known virtually.
I love being a doula ❤️🤰
