The F-word (forgiveness) is the lesson for today with a little P-word (perception) woven in.
We all look at the world through the lens of our own history. Every experience we have had shapes how we perceive what is happening around us. The truth is, we rarely know the full story of what someone else has lived through or is carrying right now. People who have been wounded often act from that wound, and sometimes their pain spills onto others.
Our perception is woven into our willingness, or unwillingness, to forgive.
Forgiveness is for us. It releases us. Forgiveness is healing. Forgiveness does not mean relationship, it means we stop holding someone responsible, so God can deal with that person. Today’s lesson asks that we pause a few times to think of anyone we have not forgiven, including ourselves as we are just as deserving to be forgiven.
