We’re honored to introduce our newest offering:
COPPeR — Central Ohio PostPartum extended Respite.

Born from years of walking alongside families through birth and beyond, COPPeR is a mobile postpartum care service designed to bring real, loving support to new parents during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.

Our team of doulas, nurses, midwives, and social workers are here to provide more than just care — we're here to offer presence, relief, and community. Whether it's a warm meal, a breastfeeding check-in, help navigating resources, or simply someone to listen — we’re showing up, with purpose, for families who need it.

Our goal and our dream is to have a brick-and-mortar center, but for now, COPPeR is on wheels — traveling to families throughout Central Ohio - meeting people exactly where they are — in their homes, in their truth, in their need.

While this is a paid service, we’re working hard to keep care accessible and within reach. Because every birthing person deserves to feel held, heard, and honored — not just during birth, but after.

We believe postpartum care is not a luxury — it’s a lifeline. And COPPeR is here to offer just that.

It's the last day of April!! You know what that means! It's time for another installment of mOBiNurses Inc... mOBiDoula of the month!! This month we celebrate one of our newest team members, Whitley Cook! .bitta.whittle
Whitley has been with us since November and has been an amazing addition to the team. Whitley has already supported TEN births with us since starting and is currently supporting 3 pregnant clients. Whitley has a heart for the community and a love for all things pregnancy and birth. She brings her bright personality and positive attitude into any atmosphere she enters. We are so proud of the work that she is doing and can't wait to see her continue to blossom and grow in this work. Whitley is a mom of one and her ultimate goal is to become a midwife. She also has supported clients through perinatal loss. Please join us in giving this QUEEN her flowers!!

It’s Black Maternal Health Week!!!

Allow me to reintroduce myself… My name is Jatu, your friendly neighborhood Black Mom, Black Obstetric Nurse Leader, and founder of mOBiNurses Inc- a nonprofit community organization that provides perinatal support in the form of doula services and RN support at no cost to families that cannot afford this pivotal care.

I began mOBiNurses with one main goal in mind… to increase ACCESS to perinatal support in the form of doula care, specifically for marginalized and vulnerable communities. While I’m not a doula, midwife, or OB/GYN, my lived experiences as a Black woman, mom, nurse leader, have opened my eyes to the obvious gaps that are leading to poor outcomes for Black families. I stand on the shoulders of absolute giants. I work alongside absolute heroes and advocates who work tirelessly everyday to move the needle.

The mOBiNurses team is full of passionate, highly trained, proficient birth professionals that are empowered to lead the charge in their work while I use my leadership skills and clinical expertise to support them in the care they provide our families. Each family teaches us something new that we use to support the next one. The relationships we have built with our families are strong and lasting.

Outcomes are extremely important to us and our stats reflect the reality of maternal health across this country, and very specifically here in Columbus, Ohio. In this there is the reality that our organization and the families that we support will be affected by adverse outcomes. We MUST be transparent about this as we work to improve these outcomes. Improvement will come naturally as ACCESS becomes less and less of a barrier for our communities. We have never turned away a family who seeks our services and we are committed to doing everything we can to give our families the support they deserve, no matter what the circumstances. I hope you will join us in the fight through spreading awareness about doula care and encouraging your friends/family to seek out and hire a doula.
