If you think strengthening your core means doing a bunch of sit-ups… good news — it doesn’t.

Your core does way more than help you do crunches. It helps support your spine, keeps you balanced, and helps your body move better during everyday activities.

Try this with me. Take a breath in, let it out, and now gently tighten your stomach muscles like you’re bracing before someone taps you in the stomach. Not sucking in…just a gentle tightening. And keep breathing.

Now keep that gentle core engagement while you try these exercises.  Make sure you prevent your back from arching up from the ground.  You can also try engaging your core when you rise from a chair, march in place, or even balance on one leg.

Core strength isn’t only built by lying on the floor doing sit-ups. It’s built by teaching your body how to support itself during movement.

Try adding this into your day and see how it feels. You’ll have a stronger core with no sit-ups required!

"5 Signs Your Body Is Asking for More Mobility, Not More Rest"

Many people assume stiffness, aches, or tension mean they should stop moving completely. Sometimes, they're even scared to move because they feel they might be doing more harm than good. Quick Health Tip You Might Need Today 👇

One of the most common questions we hear is:
“Should I keep moving while I’m injured?”

In most cases—yes… but how you move matters.

Complete rest isn’t always the answer, and pushing through pain can easily make things worse. The goal is finding that sweet spot where your body can heal and stay strong:

✔️ Protect the injured area
✔️ Keep moving in ways that feel good
✔️ Encourage blood flow and recovery
✔️ Gradually return to normal movement

When done right, movement becomes medicine.

If you’ve been dealing with an injury or that nagging pain that just won’t go away, you don’t have to guess your way through it. This is exactly what we help people navigate every single day so they can get back to feeling strong, confident, and pain-free.

Ready to move better? Let’s make a plan together.

Moms do it all. They show up, hold it together, and take care of everyone else… often without taking a moment for themselves. 🤍

This is your reminder that your body deserves care too.

I’m so excited to now offer therapeutic massage by a Doctor of Physical Therapy—a more intentional, results-driven approach designed to relieve pain, improve mobility, and help you truly feel better in your body.

Whether you’re carrying kids, stress, or just the weight of a busy life… you don’t have to keep pushing through discomfort.

Mother’s Day is May 10th!

Message me to learn more, book, or gift a therapeutic massage to a mom in your life!

Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic and a challenging time for patients to access the healthcare system, I decided to start my own business to service my neighbors in Howard County, Maryland. It was a difficult time for many people in many different ways, and I was fortunate enough to be able to provide one-on-one, quality physical therapy to people in need, in the comfort and safety of their own homes. I’m so thankful to everyone who has invited me into their lives and afforded me the opportunity to get to know them and to help them achieve their therapy goals. 🎂 www.peakphysicaltherapyandperformancetraining.com 🎁.
