I help people 50+ reduce knee/low back pain, move better, and continue to do the things they love!...
Hi, my name is Rhyrus and I am the owner of Stay On Target Fitness. I am a 48-year-old guy who has sustained multiple injuries as an adult and at age 13 was told by 2 orthopedists that I had to quit all sports because both of my knees were bad. I stopped all sports and dropped my first passion. Fast forward, through my adult life I would try to stay active but would push myself too far and would get injured (ankle, or shoulder, or my knees would start barking at me). I would rehab and get back into doing something active, until the next time the knees would start aching or I would get hurt. Work became my primary focus and the stress, and the pounds started to pile up. 8 or 9 years ago, I am sitting across from my doctor at my yearly physical and my cholesterol and my weight had gone up for the third year in a row. Right there I woke up and realized that I had to put my health first if I wanted to do the things I loved and live life to the fullest (adventure vacations and sports)! Finding the right fitness and health professionals was the most important thing and that took a while to do. It was worth the search and wait as I am doing things I was told I could never do (a weighted squat, a deadlift) and all because the right professionals gave me the right progressions and knew how to work with those of us with less than perfect bodies. I love helping others, teaching, and sports. So I started this company to help guys who might have an injury or some kind of ailment, or who has allowed work to get in the way of their health, or who never set foot in a gym, or they don’t know what to do or where to begin. Together, we can get your health and fitness in line so you can still do the things you love and live your best life!

My doggy niece insisted on cuddle time after her walk. That makes for a lovely day

I am grateful to be able to have kept my health so that it is easy to get up and down from the floor and spend time with my little girl.

Blizzard Feb 2026! Super grateful I am healthy enough to shovel. Been out twice to shovel out car.. I figure 2 more sessions. This is not the wait until it is all over kind of snow. It is wet and heavy. Which one has to be concerned with over exertion leading to cardiac episodes.

Slow down do a little at a time and many breaks.

Again super grateful for my great health!

World Pizza Day!!! Do I really need a reason for going for pizza in NY, not really. Dude it was amazing food but to be honest I was more pumped by the fact I wasn't a human popsicle as soon as I stepped outside.

How did you get through this past polar temperature weekend?

Successful and fun client appreciation brunch! Man was there a lot of food. Individual quiches, and egg bake. Plus, roasted mushrooms, bean chili, salad, and the decadent homemade mac and cheese! YUM – Yes, a trainer telling you it is ok to have carbs. Life is about enjoying times with friends and loved ones.

The only foods you should not ever eat are ones you hate or are allergic to. Other than that, each person has their own food needs medically, emotionally, traditionally, and well frankly I say spiritually. I have my own goals and know what the recommendations are for meeting those goals. Is eating mac and cheese on a regular basis going to get me there? – No. So, I have to decide for me what is more important. But not having a small amount at a brunch with friends is rude to me and the person who cooked it, not to mention punishing myself. That small amount isn’t going to derail my progress.

My doggy niece says HAPPY THANKSGIVING! She is the best behaved in the family, always a smile and a tail wag to give. Though she is the bestest, she does occasionally fib.

Like she is clearly faint here due to lack of food... at least that is what she will tell you.

According to her I never give her treats. Never must mean something else in Dog...

Seriously, she had breakfast and treats, plus a long walk in the sun already today. Knowing her human daddy she will get half of his leftovers for dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Stay on Target Fitness

AMAZING!
Leslie is killing it with the results… Latest checkup she has lost 7 lbs of FAT and has maintained her muscle mass over the last couple of months! This is while she is taking medication that helps one lose weight, but that medicine takes away muscle and bone too. ☹ So, we have been doubling our efforts on muscle building so that we can keep the muscles strong, which in turn will keep her bones strong.

Looking forward to seeing what your next checkup looks like. You are amazing Leslie! Keep up the great work.
