Lauren has worked with several populations in various settings, giving her a diverse clinical outlook, range of abilities, and extensive experience for her status. Lauren has worked mostly in the non-profit sector on an outpatient, inpatient and residential basis. Lauren has conducted therapy with children, adolescents, teens, adults, couples and families with a wide variety of presenting issues. Lauren has worked with local law enforcement, Child Welfare Services, the judicial system and hospitals to facilitate the quality care of clients in any situation. Lauren is well versed in accessing local resources in order to create a holistic approach to clients treatment and wellness. Specialties:

Weekly Mirror Affirmation ✨

♥️Intention:
The intention of this exercise is to increase your comfort and improve your relationship with yourself.

⏲️Instructions:
1. Initially, set a timer for 1 minute and engage in making direct eye contact with yourself in the mirror. If 1 minute comes easily to you, practice for a longer period of time.
2. When the timer is up, journal and reflect upon anything that comes up for you during that time (thoughts, emotions, body sensations).
3. While making direct eye contact with yourself in the mirror, say the affirmation out loud.
4. Repeat this affirmation as many times as you are able during the week.
5. Reflect at the end of the week. Do you notice any changes in how you have thought or felt this week?

✅Tips for Success:
Practice, practice, practice. The more often you practice this exercise, the higher the potential for its positive impact. The more you practice, the more ingrained the affirmation will become.

Pair the practice with another routine that you already practice. For example, every time you wash your hands or brush your teeth, complete the practice in the mirror.

The key when saying affirmation is to feel the feelings it portrays. It can help to fully relax and know that at the core of your being, this statement is true. If initially, it does not ring true that is okay, keep trying to experiment and see if a shift in these feelings is possible.
