Tips to Build Resilience:

1. Develop Social-Emotional Skills: focus on emotional literacy, problem solving skills, and self regulation

2. Encourage Positive Self-Talk: Help students replace negative self-talk with positive and empowering statements through positive affirmations

3. Build a Supportive Learning Environment: Foster connection, create a safe place, and establish clear expectations and routines to create a sense of security

4. Practical Strategies: Encourage students to ask for help when needed, normalizing the process. Encourage students to set achievable goals and break them down into smaller steps.

Medication and Therapy are a great pair to get you on the right track. With medication, therapy is the sauce that slaps. It allows you to run the path in front of you. You learn the skills to build mental strength, rewire your thinking, fashion resilience and bring you to the next layer. You do not have to take medication, you can choose to learn and use skills from therapy. But sometimes, we are so in it that therapy is not as effective as it should be. This is when medication is prescribed to lift the fog and allow you to focus on what you need to get better.
