Here’s one of many reasons why we research and develop new products to help with specific ailments.
Mushrooms are full of antioxidants that may have antiaging potential

Mushrooms may contain unusually high amounts of two antioxidants that some scientists suggest could help fight aging and bolster health, according to a team of researchers.
The mushroom highest in the desired antioxidants is the Porcini mushroom. Other strong contenders are the sh*take and maitake mushrooms.
The challenge with mushrooms is that they contain a very tough cellular chitin layer. Consuming raw mushrooms or pressure extracted fruiting bodies can access about 20% of the beta glycans and other nutrients.
To extract the full benefit from the mushroom, the following process should be used:
Slice and dry the fruiting body of the mushroom – weigh the initial raw product
Finely grate or powder the dried mushroom – weigh the dried product
Add mushroom powder to water and bring to a rolling boil – simmer for 2 hours. (record initial and final volume of water) Add water to final volume to bring to desired volume.
Alternatively, add mushroom powder to a dilute alcohol (to extract the triterpenoids) and bring to a rolling boil for 2 hours. (record initial and final volume of dilute alcohol)
Add natural preservative, such as ascorbic acid to final product.
Add desired flavorings to final product – mushrooms can impart a bitter taste.
EMULSIFY the CBD oil and the mushroom extract.
Bottle the amazing, product and go heal the world!!
The process for porcini/Sh*take (and whatever other readily available – soft fruiting body mushrooms) can include dehydrating the final emulsion and putting it into capsules. I’m of the mind that a bottled tincture might be easier to use.
The process for extracting polypore (reichi), and chaga mushroom is an eight week process and even with an extraction press, the cellular structure is so dense that the alcohol soak/shake process is required to breakdown the cell walls.
The cordyceps mushroom grows out of the backs of host caterpillars. Maybe we can find an affordable source for dried cordyceps powder, if we decide to add this.
Lions mane is a dihydrotestosterone blocker (DHT). Very high concentrations of this mushroom may result in decreased libido.
