Childhood Apraxia of speech is a developmental disorder in which there is a disruption in the pathway that leads from the brain to the muscles in charge of speech production (i.e. mouth, tongue, lips). The child will experience difficulty planning and sequencing the motor movements necessary to form the correct sounds resulting in frequent articulation errors and reduced intelligibility.
