5 ways to stop cravings in your first 30 days of recovery!

The two biggest things to keep us drinking past the point of wanting to stop, but not being able to are the twin evils…physical craving and mental obsessions.

Usually one triggers the other, but whichever starts off first, it is rare to be able withstand them, especially in those first 30 days, which is why too few of us can quit for good.

To help out, here are 5 essential ways to transform those sobriety killers.

Don't hesitate to reach out for help! Planted Recovery Colorado offers both an online intensive outpatient program, as well as virtual individual counseling. We're here for you.

Meet M***a, Planted Recovery Colorado's unofficial therapy dog!

M***a believes that every human needs “Unofficial Therapy Dog”! She spends her days keeping Sean company while he is facilitating groups and when he is done working, she makes sure he is making time for fun, self-care, and walks.

A day for M***a can be very busy! She enjoys spending time with her humans, taking care of her cats, and running outside with all the bunnies, all while squeezing in time for multiple naps. Her favorite treat is frozen peanut butter w/ her favorite Kong.

One of the services that our clients receive as part of the 12 week intensive outpatient program is nutrition counseling, provided by Kelly Miller, MNT, CRNC, The Addiction Nutritionist!

Kelly is a Nutritional Therapist and Certified Recovery Coach who specializes in nutrition for addiction and mental health recovery.
After years of struggling with addiction, disordered eating and mood instability, she founded The Addiction Nutritionist, a virtual nutrition practice that aims to serve individuals in recovery from substance misuse disorders. Her program helps clients uncover the biochemical root causes of their addictions and cravings in order to create targeted nutrient and supplement plans designed to improve mood, reduce cravings and prevent relapse. She also works with treatment facilities to train staff, educate patients, facilitate psychoeducation groups and create or improve nutrition therapy programming.

She is a graduate of Nutrition Therapy Institute and spends most of her days meeting with clients, pursuing continuing education, playing with her boys and enjoying all that beautiful Colorado has to offer.
