Holding space is, in essence, a way of being in relationship with an individual or group.
As the space holder, your role in this relationship is to intentionally form an energetic “container” where certain experiences can unfold.
Of course, each person brings their own energy and presence into the space. However, the energy and presence of the person holding the space will deeply influence the experience, shaping a unique relationship between you and those you are holding space for.
Your energetic signature must be powerful enough to form and infuse the “cocoon” everyone is entering.
So, it makes complete sense that your intention for the space matters.
✨ The highest intention of a space holder is to be a companion for others—to accompany them through whatever experience they are having or need to have.
Not to help, fix, or resolve—simply to create a companionship, a space where they can tend to whatever is arising for them, without anything “needing” to happen.
Then, the held space can become a healing space, a loving space, a compassionate space, a nurturing space, a peaceful space, a creative space, a learning space... a space of possibility and potentiality.
