May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
Your skin tells your story so let’s protect it.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world, but it’s also one of the most preventable.
Here’s how you can help protect yourself:
• Wear sunscreen every day (SPF 30 or higher)
• Reapply every 2 hours, especially when outdoors
• Wear protective clothing, hats & sunglasses
• Avoid tanning beds
• Get your skin checked annually
Early detection saves lives.
Check your skin. Know the signs. See a dermatologist.
DID YOU KNOW- Sunscreen isn’t just for when the ☀️ is shining? UV rays can pe*****te clouds and reach your skin, potentially causing sun damage. Even on overcast days, a significant portion of UV radiation can still pass through the clouds and reach your skin, even if you’re just sitting by a window. It is recommended to get your skin checked AT LEAST 1x a year, BUT if you suspect any change from any spot or notice a new spot always contact your dermatologist.
