Advocacy in Action - HCA Gainesville!

FAFP member, Dr. Diane Day (first photo, first row, center), organized a physician advocacy panel discussion for residents at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital GME in Gainesville on August 7, giving future physicians valuable insight into how they can engage in healthcare policy and make a difference in their communities. The panel featured Florida Senator McClain, political consultant Dane Christiansen, and FAFP CEO Jay Millson.

Congratulations to Dr. Day (who has served as Doctor of the Day during legislative sessions) for putting advocacy into action and making meaningful connections with legislators both locally and in Tallahassee.

Congratulations to Alma Littles, M.D., dean, FSU College of Medicine, for being elected president-elect of the Florida Medical Association! Founded in 1874, the FMA represents more than 25,000 members on issues of legislation and regulatory affairs, medical economics and education, public health and ethical and legal issues.
