A point of clarification:
-A tincture is an extract made with alcohol
-A glycerite is an extract made with glycerine
-An acetum is an extract made with vinegar
-An oxymel is an extract made with vinegar and honey
-An elixir is a tincture that has been sweetened, usually with honey
-An oil based extract is an infused oil, unless you add fat to thicken, in which case it’s a salve or balm.
-An infusion typically refers to a water extract in which hot water is poured over herbs, sealed, and left to sit for 30+ minutes to overnight.
-A decoction is a water extract that has been simmered, generally 20 minutes to an hour.
