Strength & Speed Training Matters — Especially for Youth Athletes 🏃♂️💥
The earlier young athletes learn how to move, the better they perform — and the safer they stay. Ages 10–12 are prime years for developing proper movement patterns: sprint mechanics, acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, jumping, landing, and basic strength skills. These patterns become the foundation for speed, agility, and long-term athletic success.
Strength training plays a huge role. When done correctly, it helps youth athletes:
✅ Build strong, resilient muscles and joints
✅ Improve coordination and balance
✅ Develop better sprint mechanics and explosiveness
✅ Reduce injury risk during growth spurts
✅ Gain confidence in their body and abilities
Speed is a skill. Strength is a skill. And both are learned through proper coaching and consistent training — especially in the offseason.
If you want your athlete to move better, run faster, and compete with confidence, start building the foundation now. 15 weeks of consistent, progressive offseason training could change your athlete’s trajectory.
