From the ER, clinic, wilderness, combat and high level athletes, we treat pain and injury, both acute and chronic. What is osteopathic medicine:
Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) is a method of hands-on (Manual) treatment used by Osteopathic Physicians to treat a great variety of medical and physical issues. OMM can be useful in relieving pain, improving and restoring more normal function
and promoting the body's natural ability to heal. OMM is used for acute and chronic issues by moving and correcting issues in the fascia (connective tissues, ligaments, and tendons), muscles, nerve and joints. Initially developed by Andrew Taylor Still MD DO over 140 years ago, the number of techniques have grown considerably, but all work in the same theoretical framework. Dr Langevin has 25 years experience and extensive training in many of the different techniques to include; Ligamentous Articular Strain, Fascial Distortion Model, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy, Strain/Counterstrain, HVLA (high velocity low amplitude thrusting techniques) and several others. Each patient is thoroughly evaluated and the most appropriate techniques are utilized. Most techniques are gentle and involve very little effort, while others can be more aggressive that can be uncomfortable for a brief moment. The patient will notice immediately an improvement pain level, range of motion and well being. OMM is helpful for various conditions including:
Acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions: low back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis and degenerative processes, tendonitis, fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome
Ear, Nose and Throat conditions: ear infections, sinus infections, vertigo, tinnitus, eustachian tube dysfunction, TMJ
Pregnancy: Low back pain and other musculoskeletal pain
Newborn: colic, reflux, ear infections
