I don’t often share where the name Pelvic Prescription came from, but today I felt a nudge to share (thank you Dr. Nicole for her vulnerable post yesterday) 🤍.

Pelvic Prescription was named in memory of my friend, Dr. Tyler Wallace.

After we graduated PT school, Tyler started his own business called Athlete Prescription ()… (also how many people start a biz right out of PT school?!)

One of our last phone calls was about life as new-grad PTs and the early stages of his business. I joked that he’d have to figure out all the business stuff for me so that when I was ready to start mine, he’d have all the answers (which is funny now, because after 4.5 years of PPPT I know you never actually “figure it out” and I’m sure he would know that too!).

Tyler was genuine, wildly ambitious, driven, and a leader. And I only got to know him for 3.5 years. I wish it had been longer.

But even in just 3.5 years there are so many more stories- some mine and many more everyone else who got to be his friend. So many of them make me smile and laugh still.

Today marks six years since his passing, and it’s strange how time moves.

“Pelvic Prescription” became a way to remember him in the life changing work that we do as PTs every day.

As I reflected this year, I realized there might not have ever been a “Pelvic Prescription” and there’s a VERY REAL chance that I may have never moved to Wilmington if it weren’t for Tyler… and that’s just one way that his impact continues today.

Pelvic Prescription exists, in part, because of his influence, his example, and the way he showed up.

If you followed along this far, I am happy to get to share this piece of Pelvic Prescription with you so that you may also know a little more about my friend, Dr. Tyler Wallace.

So many emotions wrapped up in these moments. 🥹

There was a time when this was just a quiet dream in my heart... late nights, big hopes, and a deep desire to change the way women are cared for in healthcare. And now… I get to live it. I get to call this my job.

Becoming a physical therapist and being part of a movement that’s truly revolutionizing women’s healthcare is something I don’t take lightly. Every day I get to help women reconnect with their bodies, rebuild confidence, feel strong, empowered, seen, and heard. I get to witness healing that goes far beyond the physical.

To every patient who walks through our doors, every woman who reaches out on social media, and everyone who trusts me enough to let me be part of their journey, thank you. That trust is everything to me.

Reflecting on the path it took to get here, the challenges, the growth, the people who believed in me, I’m in awe of how a dream turned into reality. My heart is so full, and I know this is only the beginning. ✨

Thank you for allowing me to do what I love and love what I do. 🤍

Grief shows up in more than just our thoughts, it lives in the body too.

During seasons of grief, caring for your nervous system matters. Dr. Nicole shares a few gentle ways she supports herself, in hopes it helps someone else 🤍

✨ Slow down and focus on deep breathing
Long, steady breaths help signal safety to your nervous system. Even a few minutes can calm overwhelm and ground your body.

✨ Prioritize movement, but decrease the intensity
Think walks, stretching, or gentle mobility instead of pushing hard. Movement should support you, not drain you.

✨ Get enough sleep
Rest is foundational. Create a calming bedtime routine and give yourself permission to prioritize recovery.

✨ Get outside and connect with nature
Fresh air, sunlight, and being around nature can help regulate stress and bring a sense of steadiness.

If today feels like too much, let this be your reminder: small, gentle steps still count 🤍
