Madison is 10 years old and non-verbal. Until we put an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device in front of her, no one knew she could spell, answer questions, or request her favorite toy. Thanks to specialized speech therapy tailored for autistic children using a tablet computer, her tantrums have decreased due to her new abilities to communicate with her parents.

Our Speech Therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder program helps children with ASD develop functional communication skills and learn appropriate social interaction and play skills. Our therapy program emphasizes education and training for parents.

Faith’s parents were concerned she was only able to tolerate Pediasure, and missed out on nutrition from solid foods. Faith came for occupational therapy at our Mission Viejo location to address her feeding delay. She is now eating most foods placed in front of her and larger quantities at each sitting!

Occupational Therapy at Providence Speech and Hearing Center provides evaluation and treatment for children ages birth to young adolescents. Occupational therapy supports participation in daily activities and routines including: activities of daily living, leisure, play, and social participation.

Amy was non-verbal when she first came to Providence Speech and Hearing Center in Fullerton with her extremely supportive and concerned family. Through regular speech therapy sessions, she increased her vocabulary to over 70 words and tells her mom when she is hungry and when she needs a hug!

Early identification and treatment of disorders can help children with communication, reading, writing, and social skills. Providence Speech and Hearing Center provides individual and group therapy programs for preschoolers, school-aged children, and young adolescents.

Arnie and his wife were both fitted for hearing aids at Providence Speech and Hearing Center at the Hoag Health Center Newport Beach. Our audiologists tested them individually and diagnosed severe hearing loss. They had never worn hearing aids and were thankful at how better able they were to communicate with each other - and joked their neighbors could no longer hear them yelling for each other through the house!

Providence Speech and Hearing Center’s Adult Audiology practice offers a variety of diagnostic hearing evaluations. We can determine the type and degree of hearing loss, as well as the extent to which speed is understood by the patient. We also offer the latest technology in hearing aids from a variety of manufacturers.

Juan began occupational therapy at our Garden Grove location with very poor fine motor and adaptive development skills. He is now self-feeding, completing beginner dressing tasks on his own and has gained the strength and confidence to explore his environment and develop age-appropriate play skills.

Eric has Autism Spectrum Disorder and started therapy with no eye contact and no interest in human interaction. Through the work of our dedicated speech language pathologists in Fountain Valley, he now waves and initiates communication with his family and therapists!

In Elijah’s 8 short years, he has experienced multiple facial surgeries to repair his cleft lip and cleft palate. He had no vocabulary and behavior difficulties when he began individual speech therapy. Once his language skills improved, he transitioned to craniofacial group therapy at Providence Speech and Hearing Center in Orange. It was the first time Elijah was surrounded by other children who looked like him and were working to overcome the same challenges.

Our Craniofacial Clinic works in Partnership with CHOC Children's to pair our expert speech-language pathologists work with CHOC Children's medical teams to assess and monitor each child’s development to improve their overall speech intelligibility.

Since 1965, Providence Speech and Hearing Center (PSHC) has helped more than 500,000 families in Orange County. We offer a variety of speech, hearing, and occupational therapy services for children and adults alike in a one-of-a-kind experience where patients receive care with advanced technology and a supportive, optimistic environment.

Our services are provided in several locations throughout Orange and South Los Angeles Counties (Orange, Irvine, Mission Viejo, Cerritos, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, and Newport Beach).

Providence Speech and Hearing Center has an opening for a Dispensing Audiologist at Orange, CA location.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree, or Master’s Equivalency, in Audiology. Doctorate of Audiology preferred.
• Currently holds a California Dispensing Audiology license.
• Current Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certification.
• Able and willing to work with and communicate in an empathetic, confidential, and professional manner to patients across age ranges and from all cultural linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Qualifies or will apply for staff privileges with all hospital, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider networks, and other agencies as required by PSHC to execute all contractual requirements.
• Hearing aid dispensing

JOB DUTIES:
• Provide accurate diagnosis, appropriate referral and active follow-up of all patients seen in audiology services.
• Parent education and family training in accordance with early identification best practices for identification and intervention of newly identified hearing loss as well as new hearing aid technologies.
• Determine appropriate assessment tools and strategies and implement appropriate treatment plans for all patients receiving rehabilitative services.
• Knowledge of, and in compliance with, the policies and procedures regarding record keeping, clinical goals and protocols, patient eligibility, patient scheduling, and all quality assurance standards maintained by the Department, PSHC, and all outside control agencies.
• Accurate and complete knowledge of CPT codes and other billing codes to ensure appropriate reimbursement from various payer sources.
• Participates as a team member with other audiology staff in clinical maintenance, staff meetings and associated assignments.
• Partner with community partners to provide audiology services and/or information sessions at other facilities.
