Bacterial Sinus Infection 🤧🦠

Sometimes it’s hard to know whether it’s just a common cold or something more. Here’s how to tell when you might have a bacterial sinus infection:

🔹 Symptoms lasting 10+ days without improvement
🔹 Thick, discolored nasal drainage (yellow/green)
🔹 Facial pain & pressure (especially around cheeks, eyes, forehead)
🔹 Headache or dental pain
🔹 Fever (sometimes present)
🔹 Worsening symptoms after initial improvement

🦠 Common bacteria:
• Streptococcus (strep)
• Staphylococcus (staph)

💊 Treatment:
Bacterial sinus infections often require antibiotics, such as:
• Augmentin
• Bactrim
• Doxycycline

Supportive care still matters: hydration, nasal saline rinses, nasal steroid sprays, and rest.

⚠️ If symptoms are lingering or worsening, it’s time to get evaluated.

Could this be STREP THROAT? 🦠

Strep throat is a bacterial infection caused by Group A Streptococcus and is especially common in children, though adults can get it too. It requires antibiotic treatment to resolve. We provide testing orders and antibiotic treatment, which can be prescribed and sent to your closest pharmacy.

👧 How strep throat commonly presents in kids:

• Sudden, severe sore throat
• Pain with swallowing
• Red, swollen tonsils
• White patches or exudate on the tonsils
• Fever
• Swollen, tender lymph nodes in the neck
•Usually with no cough
• Sometimes accompanied by a rash
