Roughly 350,000 people suffer an out-of-hospital-cardiac-arrest event each year, according to the American Heart Association, but only about 10% survive. However, if cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is performed immediately, the individual’s chance of survival can double, even triple.

This past year, we saw and heard about athletes that suffered cardiac arrest and survived, thanks to heroic individuals that thought quick, activated EMS, got an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), and performed high quality CPR.
