Easy lunch. Canned wild caught lobster meat, spaghetti squash, avocado, leftover bacon, red pepper slices with some chimichurri. I added some sprouted walnuts and h**p hearts for some extra healthy fats and protein. This took less than 5 minutes to put together and is tasty. There are some great canned wild caught seafood options these days…give them a try if you a quick lunch.

Left over guacamole from my daughter’s lunch yesterday. Celery I am keeping in water so it stays crisp and radishes from my neighbors garden. Easy, nutrient dense snack. And yes…I did keep the leftover guacamole from my daughter’s lunch. Avocado is expensive, it seemed too wasteful to throw it out.

Breakfast-small but mighty! 2 spoonfuls of full fat yogurt, wild blueberries, diced avocado, h**p hearts, unsweetened toasted coconut flakes. Focused on protein, fat and fiber to start my day off right!

Time Restricted Eating (when you restrict your eating to a limited timeframe such as 10AM to 7PM) does NOT work for everyone. Intermittent Fasting is something different but people confuse the two all the time.

For some it can send your body into a fight or flight or STRESSED response. Your body thinks food is scarce therefore it needs to hold on the calories you do consume to protect you from starvation. Many people gain weight even though they are eating less food and less often. THis is especially true if you are stressed. It could be work stress, life stress or your body could be in a stressed state because you are in the process of healing.

Reading the ingredients list on the products you buy is essential. You need to keep in mind that companies want to increase their profit margin so they will use cheaper ingredients to increase their bottom line. They are not concerned about your health.

Don’t stress out over meal prep…instead incorporate into time you are already working in the kitchen. I often make a double batch of meat sauce, cook an extra chicken breast or roast extra veggies so I do have options for lunch throughout the week or I can pull an extra meatloaf out of the freezer on mornings when I know we have a busy day ahead of us. This keep us on track with eating nutritious food and doesn’t feel like too much extra work.
