Agreed John. We either win or we learn. This is a tough lesson because we grow up thinking that making mistakes is wrong or bad because that's what school and our parents taught us. We'll they were wrong. We need to make mistakes and make them often.

That's how we learn and grow! So make those mistakes. F**k up some s**t. And then learn something and try again. You got this.

Diabetes is the easy part. The anxiety that flows thru my body all day and night is the hard part. I have many sleepless nights kept up by a body riddled with anxiety.

What makes this worse? Not exercising. Not meditating. Not taking the time for self care. If I go too many days without self care, my brain and body become useless. It is like I always say....short term pleasure leads to long term pain. The opposite is also true. Short term pain leads to long term pleasure. Do the things that allow your body to function at its peak. This is how you avoid anxiety from building up and causing such havok.

Get up and move. Then sit and and let the anxiety flow out naturally. Try it today and let me know your thoughts.

This one scares the crap out of me. I think if I died today the guy I could have become will still be unrecognizable to the person I see in the mirror. Everyday I get closer to that ideal self but some days I feel like I'll never reach it. Those days I remind myself how far I have come and to never ever quit trying.

Everyday might not be your best day but everyday strive to become better than you were yesterday and one day you may end this journey with no need to meet your best self because you have already become it.

I love this reminder. When we are in the thick of achieving our goals we forget to enjoy the journey and instead focus on the destination. The destination is great and obviously that is the goal but the goal of life is different. The goal of life is to enjoy the moments. Enjoy the journey.

Now I'm not saying the journey is easy. If you are doing it right, the journey will be difficult and uncomfortable. When you get to the point that you look forward to the discomfort, when you realize that if its tough it must be worth it, you start to enjoy the journey.

However, if you are on this journey and you are hating every minute, ask yourself if you are on the right path. Adjust accordingly.

When I look back on all my struggles, I saw one adversary that kept getting in my way. Me. I was the only one stopping me from moving forward.

When diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, I was in year twenty of trying to lose weight and get healthy. Year 20! In a way diabetes saved my life because I no longer had a choice. It was get healthy or get dead.

Diabetes showed me that the whole time I was struggling, it was a battle going on inside of me. A battle for control. We all have this battle between who we are and who we want to become. Remember you are your only limit. Today, choose the path of greatness and never let anyone, especially yourself stop you.

This is one of the things that changed everything for me. I was getting sicker from diabetes and my doctor was not able to help due to the broken American healthcare system. My doctor had 60 other clients that day alone. I got five minutes and in that time the quickest solution is always more drugs.

I had to take responsibility of my own health. I could no longer depend on someone else to save me.

Taking responsibility for ones life may seem difficult at first but I promise that once you do, you will notice how much more control you have that you were giving away to people in the past. Besides. It's your life. Shouldn't you be in charge of it?

We tend to avoid obstacles. We think of them as "in the way". Today I invite you to think of obstacles in a different way.

Obstacles are put in your way to test you. To see if you have the courage and wisdom to overcome them or move through them. We will not always have those virtues and those obstacles will be our downfall.

For instance I was not ready to take on the obstacle of my weight for many years. I did not have the courage and/or wisdom yet to overcome that obstacle. I did not have the wisdom yet but the courage to keep moving forward and not giving up was always there.

So when you have the courage all you need now is to go out and you obtain the knowledge, and then you use the courage inside of you to walk back up to that obstacle and say "HEY! get out of my way or I will go through you."

On the other side of the obstacle lies your power...your strength. So next time you are faced with an obstacle, close your eyes and say OMMS. Obstacles Make Me Stronger!

“Balance is not something you achieve “someday”

How is your life balanced? Between your body, your business, your being (self care including spirituality), and your main relationships, is there a balance between them all or are you putting more focus on one area and ignoring the others?

When I was in corporate, I wanted to do a good job. I wanted to be the go to guy so I worked hard at it. I had a big project one December and I spent 60 hours a week working on it. I worked all day on it, then nighttime I would catch up on my day to day. Next thing I know the project ends and it’s December 23rd and I completely forgot Christmas. I ate like crap, exercise was getting more coffee, and my wife took a back seat as well because I was too busy to be present with her.

This my friend is not balance. 🤕

The first step to balance is awareness so look at your life and ask yourself....am I balanced in all four quadrants of life Body, Being, Business and Relationships?

How can you achieve a little more balance today?
