How is your summer going? Have you all enjoyed the warmer weather? I enjoy going out into my flower garden to take a close look at the beauty of what God provides with each day. It could be a cactus if you live in the southwest or a mountain, a stream or just a patch of grass in the city somewhere. As fall arrives in the Northern hemisphere and the days get shorter and the air is crisper and cooler do you tend to celebrate this change or long for the warmer days of summer? Do you look forward to getting out your sweaters and coats and start thinking about the upcoming season of fall? I find that I long for the change of colors on the trees and the cooler weather. I appreciate all the seasons and what they bring to our lives. Summer is full of activity in my small yard with planting and basic care for my lawn. Fall just feels different, there has been a shift and I am happy to welcome fall in and greet her with a smile. Many blessings to you today on this beautiful fall day! ❤️

Each individual expression that we give to the world is unique and special. What are your God given gifts to give the world? Are you using them or keeping them hidden? It is so easy for us to walk through life and be negative. There is negative news, views, attitudes, ways of life, family and friends. How easy is it to stay positive in the negative? Do you see rainbows instead of the rain? Do you see the good in people? In situations that may look difficult? How do we walk in our lives thinking and staying positive? Do you meditate or walk out in nature? Do you read the Bible and stay strong in your faith? How do we get through these difficult times? I keep a gratitude journal and am always thankful for many many blessings in my life every day. Thank someone today for being in your life, even if they are difficult. They are there for a reason and are a blessing to you. Stay positive and keep smiling! Many blessings to you today on this beautiful spring day!❤️

Today is Earth Day. Let us treat Mother Earth kindly always by picking up trash in your neighborhood or city, by planting trees, bushes and flowers that promote pollination, volunteer at your local park or create a beautiful space in your town where people can gather to sit and enjoy. Recycle, reuse and replant those items that others may not need. Plant a garden, grow your own food, share what you have. Take care of your home and your space. Mother earth is beautiful and she creates beauty every day and every season. Let us take care of her and be thankful for all she gives us. Many blessings to you on this beautiful spring day!❤️

How is it that we find ourselves in a rut? Is it our everyday schedules that may be overwhelming, or a job that is unfulfilling? Are you and your partner needing a day off? What can we do in our free time to release our unhappiness? Is there a park close by where you can see some beautiful flowers or a museum where you can spend a few hours seeing art or pieces that you have never seen? Is there a play that you can attend or a dinner party you can put on for a few close friends? Sometimes we need to shake off life as we know it and experience something new. A fresh perspective always changes how we see our own lives and ways in which we may want to change or incorporate new ways of being. Have someone throw you a rope and climb out of that rut! In Spiritual Counseling we look to spiritual practices to help us ground ourselves, to be in the presence of spirit, to connect to our inner selves and the love that we all carry inside us. This love is required for ourselves and those in our lives in order for us to be present to each other. It is a time for us to reconnect with all that is supportive, loving, kind and generous. I don’t believe it matters which spiritual practice you choose. I do believe it is important that you take time out each morning, setting aside a few minutes and be with spirit.

Today, December 21 is the Winter Solstice. The longest night for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. The colder months are ahead of us and this can be an opportunity to go within. Go into your homes for warmth, get out the blankets that you love, start the fire in the fireplace, make hearty delicious food that nourishes your soul. This can also be a time of going inward spiritually, starting a new practice of meditation, a gratitude journal, chanting, lighting candles, and taking time for drawing, writing, or painting. Maybe you put together a vision board for 2022? What path do you see yourself taking in the future? What would you like to add to your life or simplify in your life? I would love to hear some of your ideas and thoughts about what you love about this time if the year. Many blessings to you all for a healthy and happy holiday season!❤️

How do you prepare for the day? Do you meditate before leaving your bed or do you jump out of bed to get your day started? Do you begin with gratitude or prayers? Taking the time to lay or sit in a moment of silence and awareness that today is a new day, a new start and the universe will greet you exactly where you are. Taking a few deep breaths and focusing on the fact that you are a spirit in a body is a beautiful way to start your day. By taking the few minutes and starting your day in a spiritual practice of meditation and contemplation you are allowing spirit to be awakened within you and to be with you throughout your day. I find it so interesting that we are given exactly what we need each day. Enough money, enough time, enough grace or patience or kindness. All these are given to us each day to be with our family or to walk into our jobs or to deal with a difficult situation. I have heard people say at the end of a long difficult situation “Well, I guess I will just pray it all works out for the best.” My advice to you is to pray first. Let God help you with it and the grace will come. We always want to handle it ourselves. This can bring sadness, frustration and anger. You have angelic support. Trust and the grace will come. What age do you feel? Are you 25 but feel 40? Or are you 60 and feel 30? Most of the time we feel younger than we are in years. If you were to think about how old you feel inside what would you say? I feel like I never got out of my 20’s. I like to be spontaneous and fun loving but life and responsibilities can get in the way. Bills due and a job that needs you 8 hours a day 5 X a week can be a lot. Having a spiritual practice each day can help you to go inward and visit the you that is here to support us in our everyday lives. Feel your age or at least the age you feel!!
